Dear Friends,
To paraphrase Mark Twain, "Reports of my retirement are greatly exaggerated."
Apparently my biyearly musing about opening a bookstore (with Marie Davis or
anyone else interested) was interpreted by some to mean that I was leaving
lactation. Imagine my surprise this morning when while I was making rounds at
the hospital, someone told me someone else read it on Lactnet that I was
retiring. No, not that I know of. I'm also not being fired -- that I know
of. Opening a bookstore -- while a lovely fantasy -- would never compete with
Barnes and Noble in any case. So no, I'm not retiring -- not this week -- not
next....and Lord willing, not next year, either.
I am still:
IBCLC in private practice with The Breastfeeding Connection
IBCLC for Wheaton Pediatrics
Program Director and Instructor for Breastfeeding Support Consultants
and do assorted other lactation related things....
As well as wife of one, mother of three, mother-in-law of one (almost 5 months
now!), and friend to many.
Jan Barger, RN (still), MA (still), IBCLC (STILL) -- but who was Just Kidding
about the bookstore back in Wheaton, IL.
