Just a couple of thoughts on this one - I'm assuming baby has been checked
for things like a bladder infection, ear infection or other physical
problems??

Could mother try getting into a warm bath with baby and nursing there as
often as possible - the gagging and arching sound like the baby might be
tense. Or perhaps some "kangaroo care" with baby carried next to mother's
bare chest as much as possible.

And I wonder if it might help to supplement using a syringe rather than a
bottle, since the suck is already such a problem.

This sounds like such a challenging situation - I hope it gets sorted out.
