I read your August 98 article on vitamin supplementation. I disagree
that breastfed babies need routine vitamin supplementation. The recent
AAP policy statement (Dec 97) recommends supplementation for only
specific situations, such as vit D when infants are not exposed to
adequate sunlight.
The routine practice and recommendation should be that breastfed babies
receive only breastmilk for about their first 6 months. An excellent
