Remember that gentamicin is given parenterally (IV, IM)because of low
oral absorption. Hale 97 states "oral absorption of gentamicin (<1%)is
generally nil...." (p. 271).  Therefore, I would not expect the baby to
absorb it, i.e. should not be affected by this drug taken by the mother.
