The mother who was told by 3 specialists to stop nursing to clear her
baby's eczema and occasional blood-streaked stool has been nursing again
for 2 days, thanks in no small part to the 8 pages of lactnet responses I
gave her. The baby, thank goodness, took right to breast after a bit of
puzzlement (it had been 5 weeks). Her supply is a bit low, but she'd been
pumping 20 oz a day, and so far the baby (6 mo) hasn't complained. He
refused a bottle of Nutramigen - no surprise.
His eczema seems about the same, and mom is going shopping tomorrow armed
w/ a list of acceptable foods. She learned this evening how to nurse lying
down. So far so good.
