I had a call from a distressed mother saying that her 1 year old was refusing
to wean. After going through the usual question as to why now and is anyone
pressuring you (the answers were typical of outside pressure) she told me that
Kathleen Huggings says in her book (didn't remember which one- she had both)
that unless you wean by 14 months it will be IMPOSSIBLE to wean until baby is
3 or 4.
SURELY mom misunderstood and I can't find anything that even sounds like this.
Does anyone know if there is anything REMOTELY close to this in either of
Kathleen's books: Nursing Mother's Companion and Guide to Weaning?? If you
know off hand where it is that would be nice ;-) too.
Email me privately if this isn't appropriate for the list.
