To all wise ones,
I've just got a question from a colleague, who doesn't have access to
Lactnet.
This really is a serious case and I would appreciate any input on this one.
Thanks in advance !
Newborn baby had a cerebral hemorrhage. Mother only gets glass containers
for free. She has to sterilize them every time, which is very time
consuming.
She knows that human milk stored in glass 'loses' some valuable components.
Studies give conflicting information (2 studies say plastic is better, one
study claims glass is better for storing breastmilk). I know that the fact
that she's breastfeeding is most important, but what would be BEST in this
PARTICULAR case (with due observance of the cerebral hemorrhage)?
Could the choice plastic/glass make a difference (maybe of live and death)
here?
Thanks,
