To Jack, Johanna, Diane, Patricia,Sylvia, Kathleen and all of my other
Lactnet friends,
First, Thank you all for responding!
I knew I could search the archives on this subject (which I did; thanks for
the nice reminder, Kathleen B), but my purpose was to get 'your own'
treatment plan for this particular case.I guess my question wasn't
formulated too well! Maybe I had to add ' how would YOU respond to this
SPECIFIC situation?' for clarification. So if you still want to respond
after the following update, please feel free to do so (perhaps by e-mail, if
more appropriate).
Second, sometimes it's hard to find out what gentian
violet/fenugreek/st.johns wort etc. are called in The Netherlands and if
it's the same dosage/composition that you are using. So if there is anyone
out there who can enlighten me about dosages and way of administration,
please do!
Johanna, unfortunately I don't have Kay Hoovers pamphlet on Yeast, but I did
find Pat G's (It's great; thanks Sylvia!). Diane, thanks for the info on
'the funny taste'; it was interesting.
Patricia, We've got Diflucan (Fluconazole) here in the Netherlands, but
thanks for offering to send me some ! (ALL of you are SO GREAT! I'm so happy
to be part of this Family)
Well allright, enough thank you's for now (hope I didn't forget anyone).
Here's the update on the mom:
Baby has a rash/ eczema (Asked here how it looks, where it is etc.)
Has no white patches in his mouth anymore, so GP told her he got rid of the
thrush (AAAACH! How I wish that was true).
Mom's nipples and areolas ar red and the skin around it gets affected too,
GP thought it could be eczema INSTEAD of thrush, so mom got a
'hormone-ointment' (Don't know what kind). If it doesn't get better by the
end of the week her GP is going to refer her to a dermatologist.
Mom still thinks that it is thrush, for she still has a stabbing pain after
feeds, itchy nipples and flaky areolas.
She wants to know if it could be both (thrush and eczema; I think this could
be the case, for yeast grows well on affected skin).
I also told her to wonder if she recently changed 'body-products' like
shampoo, deodorant etc.
Well, that's all for now..... by the way the difficult part here is that I
haven't seen the mother, she's in another part of the country and everything
is going by e-mail..........
Thanks again, off my soapbox for now.
