Dear Lactnetters-
SInce milk alcohol levels mirror blood alcohol levels, wouldn't adding
etoh to EBM produce the same results as giving the etoh directly to the
mothers? With the big exception that there are so many variables in
determining blood alcohol levels, such as body weight, menstrual status,
stomach contents.
Researcher Julie Menella is the same one who wrote the NEJM article on
garlic in mother's milk. One of my favorite BF articles ever!
-Debi Page Ferrarello, RN, IBCLC
whose first child would NOT eat rice cereal until we finally added a bit of
garlic powder! I'm sure my milk ALWAYS tasted of garlic!
