Dear Friends,

A non-profit that I am associated with is considering advertising for our
website and our newsletter. Unfortunately, our members are a huge target
audience for several ABM manufacturers/marketers. I am trying to develop a
policy for ads that would exclude them however, many of the parent members
of our association do feed formula and one of our board members is in
really well with one of the formula companies and wants to "help us" by
getting funding for our group from his friends at the formula co. So in
other words, I anticipate some resistance

If anyone has dealt with something like this I would appreciate feedback.
Also, I have seen a symbol used on a couple of websites that signifies that
the site/organization/whatever does not accept money/ads from formula
manufacturers. I would appreciate any info on this.

This is really difficult because our association could really use the ad $
but because of this controversy in the past we have refused all ads. There
are several products that our families could use and that are difficult to
find that we would love to have advertised on our site/newsletter it comes
down to why would they be ok and not the formula. I know the answer but
trying to convince others who don't feel as passionate about breastfeeding
as I do is something else.

Thanks,
