Thanks, Judy, for your comments on polycystic ovaries and
breastfeeding. I certainly agree with you that the focus for adoptive
Mums should always be on the maternal-infant bond. Indeed, this has
been emphasised in most of the 7 editions of my book, Successful
Breastfeeding (now out-of-print) and in my Feeding Baby & Child. Get
rid of performance anxiety! "Success" can be measured in so many ways,
and we need to help any Mum achieve her own success - and develop a
sense of joy that her baby actually did go to breast, and build a
special relationship which she and the child will enjoy and which she
will look back on happily in the future.
