I would love to introduce the idea of going Baby Friendly at our hospital
but my director is dead set against it. She see's the whole idea to "Baby
Friendly" as some kind of attack on hospitals that have formula (from the
ever popular and all around good guys at your favorite formula co.) She
gets angry every time I bring it up. I could probably count on some staff
to back the idea of trying to go Baby Friendly but a lot of the Drs. feel
the same way as our director. I just continue on the daily issues and do
Baby Friendly things without calling it that. We have no formula info packs
in prenatal or postpartum education, we have a support group, we have
policies etc. I can't seem to do much on those gift packs but I WILL, just
give me time. Any clues on how to make The REAL Baby Friendly initiative
more attractive to the unbelievers?
