Thanks Katherine!
This reminds me of a question I have for a long time:
How many breastmilk is generally produced in toddlers who are on solids? We
know that between 1 and 6 months the amount of breastmilk a woman produces
is pretty stable (average 750 ml). But what happens after 6 months? Is
there any research done about this?
I ask this since i have the impression that I currently at 2,5 years
postpartum still produce as much milk as at 6 months. (my son is still
pretty picky with solids, but grows like a champ! and you know what: when I
worry about it and try to increase his solids, exp iron containing food, he
becomes ill. The last week he had a stomach bug, severe vorimitting, and
now diarrhee. This after I started to give him iron containing cookies.
this happens several times, so I think it isn't a coincidence.).
What do you think, could it be possible that a child of 1 yo or 2 yo still
takes 700 ml breastmilk every day?
