Hello, I'm Debbie Colbert, RNC in Inpatient Obstetrics. Currently I
am completing my final curriculum to be a lactation consultant through
UCLA. I have been in obstetrics for 10 years and also breast fed my
son, who is now 18 years old. My E-mail address is my husband's -- he
has the better computer system for his work.
Currently I am interested in information regarding the following
topics:
1. Working with families who have a fetal or infant/child
demise during lactation.
Resolve through sharing has little resource material in
this regard. (I did see
the recent posting in Lacnet and found it most
interesting).
2. Resource texts regarding cultural norms in breast feeding
-- special emphasis
regarding Native American culture since I service a large
Native American
population in this area (Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of
Chippewa Indians).
3. Nutritional reference materials for use with breast
feeding moms.
FYI: Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, is located on the St. Mary's River
System of the great lakes -- our sister city is Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario. Please be patient with me -- I'm very excited about learning
from your service as well as the promotion of breast feeding.
Thank you
Debbie Colbert, RNC
