I'm wondering if it is legal in other countries for hospitals to sell
patient lists to companies. It is done here all the time. A few days
after the parents come home from the hospital, they are flooded with
mail from companies selling everything from formula to children's
encyclopedias.
I thought only maternity patients were being violated this way until my
mother-in-law was hospitalized in the cardiac unit of a major medical
center. When she came home she was badgered by private nursing
agencies, cardiac emergency care services (private), geriatric alarm
systems... you name it.
