First, hello everyone (and a special hi to Carol B!); this is my first post.
I'm an NICU nurse and CBE in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and am studying feverishly for
The Exam.

Regarding Betty's baby who wouldn't latch, Joy Anderson wrote:

I am wondering about the usefulness perhaps of chiropractic or cranio-sacral
adjustments for this baby. There is a good chance something is out of
alignment after this sort of delivery, and the baby demonstrating feeding
difficulties.>>

My kids' wonderful pediatrician, an MD with extra DO training, does such
manipulation an all the newborns she sees (as well as on kids with chronic ear
infections and other problems). Babies delivered using vacuum or forceps
probably have whopping headaches! My youngest rolled off the bed and hit her
head hard when she was about 8 months old; for several months afterward, the
pediatrician periodically saw her to evaluate and "adjust" her head, with
dramatic results as far as fussiness, nursing contentedness, and difficulty
getting to sleep. I'm a believer!
