Dear Lactnetters,

A mother of a fully breastfed eight-month old baby (no solids to speak of yet)
wants to have laser surgery called a "lasik procedure" to correct myopia. The
correct corneal thickness of her eyes is crucial to the success of the
procedure. Would her corneas be thicker and would there be vision changes in
the curvature of her eye due to breastfeeding at this point?
She says she has done quite a bit of research and there is a difference of
opinion about whether or not the breastfeeding makes a difference.
Any information would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Janaki Costello, IBCLC
