Lactnuts, here's another sleeping-with-baby query. We just had a Mom on the
postpartum floor who suffers from sleep apnea: that's how it was named.
Actually the symptoms as I heard them described sounded more like
narcoplepsy (sp?): she apparently fell fast asleep and snoring while
standing up during labor!!! She had no idea she had been briefly asleep.
They are working her up to test for apnea/pause in breathing...
Anyway the nurses were afraid she might fall asleep and drop her baby. The
midwife and I said let's just put the baby next to her in bed then.
Afterwards it hit me that she might be a prime candidate for rolling over
on her baby, no? Anyone come across this before?
