I thought gentian violet was dangerous, a potential poison and NOT to be
swallowed! I've had a baby with severe mouth ulcers,,,,
Yes it's a liver carcinogen if you are a mouse who eats it for 75% of your
natural life span. No data on humans.
Mouth ulcers likely to indicate it was not .05% aqueous GV but a stronger
dose of alcohol: 1%, 2%, or spirituous not aqueous.. If it stings cuts
strongly it can cause damage.
Bought two bottles in the States in June: cheaper and easier than here.
They were 1% and will be duly diluted with sterile water. MM
