Hi,
THis is totally unacceptable behavior on the part of the staff and must be
dealt with, imho, by supervisors, asap. It is one thing if they are joking
about it between themselves, this is bad enough, and is sabotage to your
position. It also gives a bad professional light to the hospital. New
staff members should be made aware that you exist and then be given the
opportunity to meet you and decide for themselves who you are and what you
stand for. When a staff nurse makes a negative comment about you to a
paitient as an excuse as to why the night nurses did not do their job and
give the mother what she wanted, that nurse needs to be reprimanded
immediately and needs to write a letter of apology to not only the mother
(for her inappropriate comments) but also to you for bad-mouthing your
character. Is this slander? I wonder if you could say "Slander...Lawsuit"
and turn some ears?
Don't take this type of behavior any longer. It is childish on their part
and unprofessional. Sounds like they all need a refresher course on
appropriate and inapprpriate behavior...
