Grace,
A client of mine had a similar situation with her healthy baby boy. I
saw her a few days postpartum for latch-on difficulties, which readily
resolved. A few months later, baby developed bloody stools, sometimes a
few drops of blood, sometimes a lot. Mom made the rounds with him, and
decided to just keep breastfeeding since he was obviously thriving. He
continued to have variable amounts of blood in the stool for 2 months,
at which time it resolved. He has been well since, and is still
thriving at 11 mos old.
