While the researchers found that walking did not SHORTEN labor, they also
concluded that walking did NO HARM and that mothers should be allowed to do
so if they wished.  Also mentioned was the PREFERENCE of health workers for
mothers to be put in bed (but what does that say about whether the mother
is comfortable there?).

Sometimes the results of studies do not provide the whole story.  I would
prefer to share with people the issue of mother choice in whether or not to
walk throughout labor (or at least stay upright most of the time)....
