A short burst of prednisone is NOT a problem for a nursing mother.  I would
advise her to return to breastfeeding immediately and ignore the advice to
wean.  Also, soy formulas are not a good idea due to the huge dose of
phytoestrogens they contain and their increased alumunium content.  Soy
protein is just as allergenic as cow milk protein, too.  If a mom has to use
artificial baby milk for any reason, I would much rather see her use a cow-
milk based product, or if allergies are a problem in her family, a
hypoallergenic/predigested product would be preferable to soy.
