Thank you for your responses to the mother's question about prednisone.  I
had read her Hale and the AAP drug list, both of which are referenced, and
then the USPDI and PDR, from which her doctors and pharmacist were probably
getting their information and which are not referenced.  We also discussed
why they wanted her to wean and the fact that weaning is not the same as
simply nursing drug-free, even though most people see the trade-off as risk
vs no risk when it's really risk vs risk.

But after all that, I knew she wanted someone - preferably a doctor - to
tell her this drug was okay *in her particular situation*.  You did that,
and she is nursing her baby now.  Thank you!

I also gave her the fax info for accessing articles in Tom Hale's book, and
they did that right away.  That, too, made a big difference to them,
because they were *reading for themselves* instead of being read to or
told.  What a powerful collection of tools we have!  And what new insights
this mom must have into her ability to make decisions for herself and her
baby!
