There is one study on loratadine :
Hilbert J et al. Excretion of loratadine in human milk. J Clin Pharmacol
1988 ; 28 : 234-39.
It has an active metabolite : descarbo-ethoxy-loratadine (DEL). Half-live of
loratadine and DEL is 12-15 h. Bound to plasmatic proteins : 98% for
loratadine, 75% for DEL.
The study was about 6 women who were given 40 mg loratadine only one time.
Conc in breast milk : 0,02 to 0,039 mg/l for loratadine (ratio M/P :
0,8-1,6), 0,009 to 0,029 mg/l for DEL (ratio M/P : 0,6-1,2). Active products
in milk since 12 hours after absoption. Maximum given to tne breastfed
infant with one single dose of 40 mg loratadine : 17,4 µg/kg/day.
No study with repeated absoption.
Hope this help
