A mom I'm working with developed mastitis this weekend and needed
antibiotics. The doctor told her not to breastfeed her baby during this
time-- not because he thought her milk would be dangerous because of the
antibiotic transfer, but because he said that it might cause thrush in
the baby! Now don't you just love this new strategy on preventing
thrush?

I did point out that mom could still develop yeast, and that when baby
went back to breast she could get it anyway. And, of course, that thrush
is bothersome but not exactly this life-threatening illness to be avoided
at all costs. ;-)
