i used syntocinon twelve years ago with my first child. looking back now with
the great wisdom i have acquired, i can tell you that letdown was not my
problem. but it works and works well. it can be expensive, but lasts for a
while, i think the one container lasted a month. after a month, you no longer
need it, just holding the thing up to your nose would trigger a letdown. i
have heard a similar story from someone else who used it.
i find it hard to think of any "real" situations that would require it. it
seems like problems are always more than just let-down, although if you were
sure that was a specific problem, it would work well. i don't know if anyone
would prescribe it these days. perhaps someone else knows.
