Hello, I'm a Dutch 'lurker' reacting to the 'difficult case' of the
mother with the 'full'breast. You wrote:

I just read an article in an old JHL about breastcancer which claims
that complaints like these should be examined for cancer. It states: "A
lactating mother who is afebrile with mastitis-like symptoms that are
unresolved after a 10-day course of antibiotichs needs additional
assessment by a physician" (p. 208).
 The article is in Vol.11, nr 3, september 1995, p. 205. It's called
"Breastcancer and Breastfeeding: Five Cases" by Ellen D. Petok, BS,
IBCLC.
Hope this isn't the case. Greetings,
Myrte van Lonkhuijsen (VBN-volunteer, The Netherlands, mother of 3).
