My husband is doing some part-time work for Jet Propulsion Labs and today
was Open House for family members of employees. In the auditorium, there
were several mock spacecraft. A voyager spacecraft display was of special
interest to me. For those of you who are not space watchers, there are two
"Voyager" spacecraft out in space at the current time. They have traveled
to and beyond the planets of our solar system and are now venturing to
unknown places. In case the Voyagers happen upon life in another world,
they contain copper discs with sound and pictures. The pictoral essay
included detailed pictures of conception, fetal development, and birth.
All pictures are done in sequence. To my great pleasure, the picture of
birth was followed by a picture of a woman breastfeeding. The next
picture was a robust child being held up by a man (daddy). There was no
sign of a bottle anywhere.
