I was hoping someone may have some suggestions.  A mom of a 5 month old
called me tonight.  Baby already has a four bottom teeth in.  BAby is
biting one breast only.  This resulted in a cut at the base of mom's
nipple.  She has been trying to let that side heal for a couple of
days---no nursing.  I gave her suggestions for engorgement.  She tried
using a manual pump, but it opens the cut, which begins to bleed.  I
suggested hand expressing.  Mom says she is not very good at it.  IS
there some way to bandage the cut, so she can pump?  Baby does not bite
while nursing to sleep, it would be possible to try nursing then for a
little relief---but would this not be a good idea---open the cut like the
pumping?
