One of our first "lactation" pts after we started our program was similar to
the baby that was a poor bottle feeder but "latched" on  to the breast easily.
It was an adoptive situation and 11 years ago it was even less known about
than now.  Our Neonatologist- ( the same now famous Dr. Nancy Wight), was
concerned about discharging this baby because it was eating so poorly from the
bottle.  She suggested the mom try breastfeeding.  We set her up with the S--
system,  and the kid did great!! Just like it was what he/she had been waiting
for!  The last contact we had with her, as best I can rem., was when the baby
was around 9 mths old.  She had never made a full supply but had continued.
