The case in question regarded a mom with deep breast pain in one breast,
nursing a 7 month old baby. She had experienced blood from the breast which
was sore with pressure. She also had sore nipples.
Dr had given her on dose of Diflucan (150 mg) even though there weren't, to
his knowledge, any yeast symptoms.
My friend (LLLL) who requested your assistance posted today that the
bleeding had stopped after only one day. After she talked to the doctor
about the current recommendations on this list for yeast treatment, he
agreed to go with a 2 -week treatment for yeast overgrowth in both mother
and baby. She is feeling much improved and both my friend and the mother
are most grateful for all of your responses and your expertise.
I sent her my recommendations for complimentary treatment for yeast while
taking anti-fungals. She is following the recommendations. I hope all
continues to go well for her.
Thank you,
Patricia Gima, IBCLC
