Please contact the Human Milk Banking Association for information about
adult uses of human milk, they have lots of information. A friend of mine
was nursing her toddler when her 17 year old daughter was in a car accident,
she was in a coma and mom's breasts got very full while staying at the
hospital, so the ICU nurses got her a breast pump and her neurologist
requested that all pumped milk be fed to her daughter, she make a remarkable
recovery and their family attributes some of it to the mother's milk she
recieved. Think about it...it makes sense- building blocks for brain growth,
antibodies to fight off opportunistic infections, easily tolerated
nutrition, growth hormones and I'm sure there must be a little magic in
mother's milk..... Cathy
