There has been previous discussion on Lactnet regarding the use of Trovan while
breastfeeding to which I refer you.
I want to add some additional information from the drug manufacturer:
"Trovafloxacin was found in measurable concentrations in the breast milk of
three lactating subjects. The average measurable breast milk concentration was
0.8 ug/mL (range: 0.3-2.1 ug/mL) after single I.V. alatrofloxacin (300 mg
trovafloxacin equivalents) and repeated oral trovafloxacin (200 mg) doses."
NOTE: The manufacturer states that " the safety and effectiveness of
trovafloxacin in pediatric populations less than 18 years of age, pregnant
women, and nursing women has not been established."
