Laurie asks, "Would exposure to airport scanners change the composition or
usability of breastmilk?"

I had this question just a few weeks ago.  Phoned my radiologist friend who
assured me that airport scanners are fine for EBM and reminded me that
nursing mothers go through airport scanners too and breastfeeding is not
contraindicated thereafter!  Baby consequently received the scanned EBM and
thrived!
