Rob,
The way I see it, this is a way of saying that they don't want to
breastfeed. I have nursed my 2nd, 3rd and 4th babies, and never felt it was
a problem. The older children learn very fast that when I'm nursing there
are things that have to wait, and I feel that if the mother doesn't make a
big deal of nursing, neither do the children. I think one of the best ways
to convince mothers of this, is meeting with other mothers who have done
this (LLL for instance). But if this is a mother who props a bottle, and
lets her 5 month old hold the bottle himself, while doing other things, you
will never convince her - she feels her baby is "using" her. The poor baby.

time consuming to breastfeed the baby cause she has other children to care
for. I also see plenty of moms who are breastfeeding their 2nd or 3rd
child without this problem.
