I was asked yesterday if I gave professional courtesy (ie low rates ) on a
pump rental for a physician. THis mother was having a baby soon, and was
returning very shortly to a full time practice.
Has anyone else every been asked to give "professional courtesy/discount" to
physicians ? I had never been asked..I said no, I didn't...I have never been
given professional courtesy as an RN at any doctor's office...ever. I had
to laugh, wryly...seeing as she makes probably in the three figures...
I guess I DO give professional courtesy, but the low rates that we give out
go to the low income mothers who need pumps and can't afford them. I have
never turned anyone down who needs a pump.
What do others do in this situation?
