I just got a call from a dad whose wife I saw with previous child five years
ago. She now has one week old new baby, felt she had plugged duct and/or
mastitis and used a warm (?HOT?) wet compress on it. This resulted in a
burn severe enough to blister her skin. She has seen her doctor and then
called me. I just wanted to post this as a warning for those still treating
with *warm*, wet compresses. Dad stated areas in their house have very hot
water and other areas have trouble getting hot water but he can't adjust the
thermostat because of an inaccesable location.
