Hello!
I am a Lactation Consultant and La Leche League Leader in NYC, and this is
my first posting. I visited Boston last week and spent an afternoon at the
Museum of Fine Arts. I chanced upon a "Nursing Mothers' Room" (I forget
the exact wording). This was a windowless closet with an art reproduction
and a changing table (no bathroom). In the museum there are many chairs,
artwork you can sit on, much to my son's delight. Does anybody in Boston
know the origin of this room? Are bared breasts banned in Boston? If I'd
had a nursing baby I would have lifted my shirt on a beautiful chair where
I could see some art. In New York, of course, nobody could stop me because
of the law. I hope the small town which wanted to ban public breastfeeding
has gone on to more useful political activities. Just some musings from
the Big Apple.
