Cindy,
I will attempt again to send this post since my last one bounced
back to me. Responding to this "episiotomy scarring is related to
breastfeeding", I find this a little hard to believe. I would think
that if you investigated the type of suture used and how extensive the
episiotomy is, you might be able to find a possible answer. I have
witnessed and heard from others that it is not uncommon for some women
to exhibit a local allergic reaction or sensitivity to "suture". Our
culprit tends to be chromic suture which seems to cause localized
swelling, slow healing, scarring and in some cases never completely
dissolves, requiring removal in the Doctor's office many months later.
Unfortunately I do not have any references/readings to support
my claim, just on the job training. Hope this gives a different insight
to an interesting diagnosis??
