Hi Naomi,
The attachment letter for bill HR 3531 was in microsoft winword 95. I
use winword 97 and was able to open it, the program asked if i wanted to
automatically update the formatting to 97.
I took the advice, personalized the letter and sent it to the staff
reporter Elizabeth Rosenthal at The New York Times.
Ms. Rosenthal's beat at The Times is politics relating to health
issues. Bill HR 3531 should be right up her alley.
A few years she interviewed me and wrote a very positive article in The
Times about Postpartum Doulas. She also included accurate quotes in
support of breastfeeding . She could very likely be a great
journalistic resource in supporting the bill. She has been on staff for
many years (is a working mother who breastfed), hopefully she's still on
the politics health beat and has enough clout with the new editor to
convince him to do this story.
