Barbara Wilson Clay asked for comments regarding different levels of
credentialing. I would not like to see this. In the profession of
nursing there has been as many as 3 levels/types of nurses...BSN,
Diploma, Associate Degree. This has led to bitterness about academic
versus skill preparation, pay scales, continuing education issues, etc.
Much time and energy has been spent on these issues detracting from
professional development and unity. Much better ,IMHO, to gradually, but
significantly raise the CEUs needed to sit the first exam and to
recerttify.
