Hello!
I have been asked by my local hospital to plan and speak at a mandatory in-service for nurses, and to develop a
checklist to help ensure that the information given out by each nurse is consistent and accurate.
However, when I asked about reimbursement, all of the budgets are low. So this leaves them asking for an unrestricted
educational grant from a formula company to pay me for my time. They say that the money goes into their educational
funds and is disbursed from there.
I would GREATLY appreciate any feedback anyone can offer. What would you do? How would you handle it? At the
planning meeting held yesterday, I was the only person there who was not a salaried employee of the hospital or health
department.
Do I do it for free, and hope that the networking opportunities will help my fledgling business, even though I am
feeling tapped-out of energy in my volunteer capacity?
I appreciate any comments you all might have! If this is not appropriate for the list, please feel free to e-mail me
privately.
Thank you very much!
Warmly,
Andrea
