Indeed, I am quite surprised that anyone, in this day and age, would use
chloramphenicol for an obstetrically related infection (can't remember
what it was).
The grey baby syndrome occurred when neonates were getting
chloramphenicol directly in large doses. I think it highly unlikely
that they would get enough through the milk to cause any problem at all.
I second Deena's question? Is there nothing else which could have been
used here?
