Hello all,
I'm going to Topeka tomorrow to our state AWHONN conference with the latest
information on HR 3531. I'm taking the bill summary from Rep Carolyn
Maloney's website at www.house.gov/maloney and the information below is on
the back of my fact sheet. I have to credit Doraine Bailey of the Kentucky
ILCA affiliate for her help. Searching the web for your representatives is
pretty easy from www.house.gov.
There is also a press release from Patsy Kennedy, AWHONNs presodent
supporting the bill at www.awhonn.org
Please use these example freely so that we can get the word out about the
importance of this bill to mothers and babies. Time to log off now. I'll
let you know how things go in the Capitol City later.

To gain passage, it is important that many more representatives actively
support HR 3531. Our representatives need to know why this legislation is
needed. They need you, their constituents, to tell them. You can help by
providing them with any examples of cases of women who have had difficulty
when they have returned to work and breastfed. Provide them with
information to support breastpump standards. Do you know of cases where
women have been injured or used defective breastpumps?
Here's how to contact your respective Representatives in the state of
Kansas. If you plan to e-mail your representative, please include your
name, phone number and mailing address in your e-mail message.
