Thought you might like to know that last night on "Win Ben Stein's Money" (a
Comedy quiz show to which we are hopelessly addicted) they had the category
"When you care enough to send the very breast." The clue was something like
"this organization was founded in 1956 by 7 women to help other women with
breastfeeding." And one of the contestants knew the answer, and the moderator
even pronounced it right.
Unfortunately, it was in stunning contrast to what we found when we took our
family to the Monterey Bay Aquarium a couple of weeks ago. The hands-on
children's exhibit includes an enormous--at least 9-foot-tall--bottle and a
sign next to it that reads "how many bottles do baby whales drink every day?"
A little door that you can open up informs you that human babies drink "5 or 6
bottles a day"....
Still, I bet more people saw Ben Stein last night than see that exhibit in 6
months!
So that's some kind of progress, I guess.
