Within the past year, I had a call from a mom who was here in Hawai'i on
vacation with her husband and toddler. She left her 6 week old at home
with her mother. The baby was being fed abm as mom didn't leave much
milk. If she felt she had to leave one of her children home---why not
the toddler? She had a pump with her and had to spend her vacation
around her pumping schedule. Ignoring the other issues here, wouldn't
nursing her baby be more convenient? I think by the time this mom called
me they had been here about two weeks and her supply was dwindling. They
were still going to be here for another week. I gave her some
suggestions to help with her supply, but also told her that even with
pumping she still needed her baby at her breast to keep her supply up. I
don't know whatever happened with this family. Mom didn't seem to be
bothered about the decision to leave baby at home and was surprised and
not too happy at the info I gave her in regards to her supply.

Aloha,
Gloria Thai LLLLeader Hawai'i
