I have a question for all of you... When do you recomend lanolin for sore
nipples (assuming you have assisted with latch, positioning, human milk for
aid etc) I have had mothers try it when they have open cracks and nipple
wounds. If that doesn't seem to help I'll suggest a mild over the counter
antibiotic ointment, specifically (Bac.....in) A friend of mine, also an LC
said she was told that if a woman has open cracks wounds you should go the
antibiotic oint and stop the lanolin. I think deep, slow healing nipple
wounds are one of the hardest things we deal with....even when you've assisted
with latch etc. It seems to take a long time for healing...I frequently lose
moms during this time.
