I just received my copy of "Quickening", the bimonthly newsletter
publication of the American College of Nurse Midwives. There is an article
in the newsletter about a call for Lactation papers for the May/June 2000
issue of the Journal of Nurse Midwifery. The issue will be a home study
program of specific topics which will include: nutritional value of breast
milk, the effects of breastfeeding on the mother, employment and
breastfeeding, breastfeeding multiples, weaning habits and the debate
between culture and convenience.
Each potential contributor should send an outline or abstract for a
proposed paper by *JUNE 1, 1998* along with a brief biography. Each
submission will be considered as a good faith commitment and will be
acknowledged in terms of its acceptance or nonacceptance.
Please direct your submissions to Deborah Bash, CNM, EdD, FACNM, Georgetown
University School of Nursing, 3700 Reservoir Road, Washington, DC 20007.
