I have not read all the Lactnets, but wondered if anyone mentioned Dr.
Piscane in the La Leche League Conference in Washington, DC July, 1997.  He
mentioned there was a study finding that children who were given solids
much later than the recommended 6 months had a higher risk of
Intussusception of the intestine.  As this problem is not very common, the
risk of having it was small, but the risk was statistically significantly
greater for children solely on breast milk.
